Tumai Beach Sanctuary is located on the south western side of the Pleasant River estuary just north of the township of Waikouaiti on the Eastern Otago Coastline.

Tumai Beach is only 35 minutes drive from Dunedin and 6 km from Waikouaiti. At Waikouaiti you will find a School, Library, Butcher, Baker, Fresh fish, Food centre and more.
