Overview
Tumai Beach is an innovative mix of farming, living and ecological outcomes. Resource consents have been obtained and now you have the opportunity to buy direct from the developer or an agent.
Tumai Beach is a beautiful piece of the Otago coast line. The Pleasant River flows down to the estuary, sand bar and beach. The beach is bracketed by cliffs and depending on the tide it is possible to walk several kilometers of beach.
The planning process has been carried out over a period of 2 ½ years by a professional team including planners, wildlife, iwi, water supply and other experts.
The original 357ha farm has been divided into:
- 266.49ha of farm land which has since been sold, Covenants are in place so that no further subdivision is possible,
- 68.5ha of the Tumai Beach Sanctuary farm park,
- 26ha of restored estuary which is vested in the Crown.
The farm park includes 22 residential freehold secions with designated building platforms. Titles are available now. These sections are embeddind in the farm park owned by section owners i.e. titles have one share each in the common land, which is administed by a small company Tumai Beach Services Ltd ( TBS) with section owners being the sole directors, which are elected by residents.
Water is provided through a mixture of dams to be constructed on the site. The farm is included among the water scheme users.
Power will be provided underground through the development along roading access corridors. Roading development is well under way with all Stage 1 roads at an excellent standard for access now.
The nearby community of Waikouaiti, 5 minutes away, has a local dairy, bakery, petrol station, primary school and a range of other facilities.
